Identity
An ever-expanding identity for Boogieland [kick]boxing Club. Boogieland is Amsterdam's most rock 'n roll, friendly and inclusive boxing club - even though blood, sweat and tears are shed. It's a boxing community living by the motto 'boxing to become... Champs at life'. Employing martial arts as a tool to become fit physically as well as mentally, and using the insights gained during training and in the ring to transform yourself into a well-balanced individual. The identity started out very DIY with coloured tapes and (spray)paint and evolved into a complete and fluid, very recognisable identity which can be incorporated in t-shirts and other apparel, the venue itself, their boxing bags, posters and other means of communication as well as Boogieland's legendary boxing events.

The Boogieland identity has a very simple but effective base, namely the boxing ring itself. It’s the frame for every basic Boogieland expression. The colours and the font are inspired by old-school motor racing outfits and liveries – going hard & fast and looking good doing it. Of course, the blue and red colours are instantly recognisable as the two main corners of a boxing ring.

The identity is incorporated in various scales and materials in the club itself, from coloured paint on the floors and walls, to shower curtains and in- and outside signing.

As a special for all Boogieland devoted trainers, we designed a jacket incorporating hand-drawn illustrations into the basic identity.
